Transportation

The number of cars on city streets throughout the world is steadily increasing. Regional planners see a time when present roadways will be unable to handle the crush of traffic. Mass transit systems often fail, however, because people are attached to their cars. How do you think you would be able to get along without an automobile? What changes would you need to make if you could not drive a car? (If you do not own an automobile right now, explain how you manage to get by without driving.)

Remember to put your name at the bottom of your paragraph.

  1. If I didn't have a car to get me around I would go back to the old fashioned Nike express. Walking worked back in the day. People would walk for miles and miles to get to school, work ,and do their shopping. Walking is a good way to get excercise. Plus I think it would help people start living within their means more. You would have to adjust the way you live, where you shop, go to school, and work. Buy a durable pair of shoes and hit the road.

  2. If there came a time when the roadways would not be able to handle the crush of traffic, I would simply adjust..
I would buy a bycicle and a buggy to get me and my children around. If I found that I couldnt get a bike I would find the transint schedule closes to my house that would work for me and my family. If the weathers good..I would simply walk.

  3. If i didnt have a car I would have to wake up extra early to catch the bus to come to school.I would be in really good shape because of all the walking I would do.Thank god I live close to my job otherwise on weekends I would'nt have a ride. We are really lucky to have the transportation we have and to live in a city were traffic is no too much of a problem yet. Ana Cejudo

  4. This is a hard question,I think I would stay more in home. Here is hard to move around with out a car because everethig is to far away, so thar would take me more time to arrive the places that I want to go. It would be helpful to use the bus and walk. Trini

  5. Well, at this time to have a car is more a need than luxury, but not everybody has one. In my personal case if I don't have transportation at the moment, I call my wonderful friends or my sister to ask for help. For some reason not always the people are available to help me at the moment that I need. In that case I check how far away is my destination from me, and I decide how to get there; either way, walking or getting a taxi.

  6. Is imperative, not use the cel-phone, when you drive, and attending all time the other drivers and peatons. The distance at the otrher cars when we drive, will make prevent accidents all time.

  7. I won't like to use the bus for my children. I would ask to my husband take us to school and everywhere, but the problem will be when he is working. We can adapt to his time, and this way contribute to the warming global. Celia.
